The Right Film for a Tricky Formulation: Tekni-Plex helps Altrazeal® Powder for Wound Treatment Adopt a Novel Packaging Solution

Altrazeal® from ULURU Inc. – a powder that transforms into a three-dimensional, micro-porous film that contours to the shapes of wounds – was recognized as an advancement in wound management. However, the groundbreaking formulation came with one significant disadvantage: due to various factors – most notably the formulation’s extremely low density – it was exceedingly difficult to package the product in a manner that optimized its unique performance. Tekni-Plex became involved in the project when it was evident that traditional blister materials were not providing the required moisture barrier.

Tekni-Plex ISO 15378:2007 Certification

Tekni-Plex Europe NV has successfully obtained ISO 15378:2007 certification, which permitsthe company’s Belgium facility to design, develop, manufacture and sellpackaging materials dedicated for the pharmaceutical and medical industry.
